It’s notoriously expensive to build mobile networks the traditional way. Carriers buy spectrum and build towers; they make the decisions about where coverage deserves to get built and whether it justifies the cost. 

The Helium Network is built differently: businesses and Wi-Fi network operators are empowered to use infrastructure they already own to add coverage where people actually need it. And they are rewarded for the mobile traffic their networks carry.

Now, through the new No Fee Program, deployers of Helium Plus will not pay any connect fees on the rewards they earn from the Helium Network. Whether you're paid in USD, USDC, or HNT, if you’re a Helium Plus deployer, you keep what you earn through the program.

Helium Plus lets businesses use Wi-Fi infrastructure they already own to provide mobile coverage, without buying new hardware.

Once enabled, the existing Wi-Fi network can carry offload traffic from participating carriers. The Helium Plus deployer gets paid for the data their venue transfers.

That means hotels, neighborhoods, quick service and fast food restaurants, stadiums and other venues can get more value out of infrastructure they are already paying for.

A New Opportunity for Every Helium Plus Deployer

The program applies to every Helium Plus deployer on the Network, whether they just started deploying today or have been deploying for years. HNT, USD and USDC payouts carry the same zero fee, with no minimum volume of data transferred through the site required and no premium for getting paid in a stable currency. If you’re a Helium Plus deployer, the change will show up automatically in your payout.

Premium Support for Deployers Carrying the Most Traffic

Premium Support is also free right now for the deployers carrying the most traffic. If your Helium Plus deployment carries more than 1000 GB per month, you'll get priority access to the Helium Plus core team: faster answers, hands-on help, and a direct line when something needs attention.

This is a bet on the people doing the work. Coverage doesn’t magically appear because some carrier approved a budget and gave it a green light. It’s built site by site, by deployers who bring more venues online. Helium Plus is the tool and the reward mechanism that makes sure the full value of that expansion goes to the folks making it happen.

What is a deployer?

A deployer is someone who creates coverage on the Helium Network, either through hardware (Hotspots) or through Helium Plus (venues with existing Wi-Fi infrastructure enabled for the Helium Network).

Through the No Fee Program, Helium Plus deployers pay no connect fees, which are the ongoing fees for staying active on the Helium Network. The one-time onboarding fee is waived as well.

What is a channel partner?

A channel partner is someone who introduces a venue to Helium. In exchange for that referral, the channel partner receives a percentage of the earnings on the data transferred through that Helium Plus deployment. The No Fee Program does not change or reduce channel partner earnings.

How long does the No Fee Program last?

The No Fee Program for Helium Plus deployers goes into effect on August 18, 2026, and lasts until further notice.
