The Old Hunter
He leaned on the fence with a thoughtful stare,
in his golden coat and long blond hair.
His mind looking back at the scenes of his past.
when his body was young and his paces were fast.
As he rested one leg and swished his tail,
with one ear cocked for the sound of his pail,
he remembered the hunt on a cold winter's day,
and the baying of hounds as they entered the fray.
And then, as he looked out over the land,
he saw her coming, bucket in hand.
A friendly pat, gentle scratch near his ears,
he had no regrets for the passing of years.
The Wonder Bra :)
Let me sing of the wonderous Wonder Bra!
It lifts us up no matter how far.
It's been a best seller throughout the ages,
No matter who wears it, it lifts us in stages.
No bulging or flopping, no hanging it out.
With a Wonder Bra you're never in doubt!
My Plant Killing Cat!
He arrived in my house, a small ginger ball.
Full of himself, no fear at all.
With his tiger stripes and little sharp claws,
and a strong propensity to climb up the walls.
He gobbled his biscuits and slurped up his milk,
a real little thug with a coat made of silk.
Leaping and bounding with playful abandon,
skittering along the ceramic tiled landing.
Lying in ambush behind the loo door,
waiting his chance, leaping over the floor.
Attacking the toilet roll, shredding it fine,
I never manage to get there in time!
Killing my pot plants, upsidedown on their end.
So quick on his feet, my little furry friend.
Sleepily curled on the cushion on my bed
A tired little tiger, time to rest his wee head!
The Mountain Top
I sat upon a mountain top,
closer to my god to be.
All day I sat in contemplation,
but no sign of him did I see.
And all around the birds were singing.
The trees blew gently in the breeze,
and Mother Earth called my soul to peace,
my tired body to rest at ease.
Where was this god in all his glory?
In nature's wondrous attire?
Where was his voice, his ghostly body,
while earthly songs aspire?
But in the glory of the sunset,
I saw Gaia's secret smile.
I heard her voice upon the wind,
and surrendered to her guile.
I sat up there a little longer,
her whispers a gentle sound
As darkness fell the stars came out
and danced upon the ground
At last, my mind prepared for rest,
I left that special place.
And thanked The Mother for my day,
spent in her glorious space.
