Channel Steward
 Dr. Deborah Bauers
Dr. Bauers is Helium's Health & Fitness Channel Steward.
Hello, everyone! I'm excited about my new role as your Health and Fitness Channel Steward. I have the privilege of heading up a great team of health professionals that are working together to make our channel one of the best that Helium has to offer.
I'd like to share just a bit about myself. I'm a freelance author and Licensed Professional Counselor with over 30 years of experience in my field. I've written a book entitled, "Three Questions to Heal a Marriage," that outlines a Christian model for couples desiring the best marriage possible. I also write for AllAboutLifeChallenges.com, an on-line search engine, that provides information on a variety of mental health and relational issues. I've even tried my hand at journalism as a mental health newspaper columnist.
I began my mental health practice in collaboration with a close colleague and physician friend. Together, we worked to meld the medical and psychological model in order to treat, not just the body or the mind, but the whole person. I believe in teamwork and value all my colleagues who are working in allied fields of physical and mental health. I invite you to visit me at http://www.helium.com/users/375673 if you'd like to get to know me better.
I currently practice part-time and am an adjunct Professor for Kings College and Seminary. Two of my dreams have always been to be an educator and a writer. Now I'm living them both.
If you've found your way to my zone, don't stop now! Check out all the wonderfully crafted articles on Helium and then, if you've always wanted to write, jump in and join us. If you have expertise in the field of health and fitness, please share it with us by publishing your work in our channel.
I'm here to help in any way I can. Whether you are an interested reader, a writer, or just a health enthusiast, contact me through Helium if I can help you. Don't forget to join me on Face Book and Twitter, too, and let's have some fun together.
See ya around the channel!

Exercise
... I stumbled upon Helium on June 01, 2007 and have been an active writer here ever since. My first articles were wrestling based, but it was here that I found my passion lay in such topics as nature, animals, conservation and certain aspects of politics. I have very strong opinions and beliefs as you will easily be able to see from my articles.
Fitness Basics
... I was flattered beyond words (at the time obviously, as I certainly have words now) when I was offered a Co-Stewardship in the "Health and Fitness" section here at Helium! My area of preference (not "expertise") is in Fitness Basics. So anyone who has any questions at ANYtime about this topic (or others) feel free to drop me a line. I'll be combing the pages periodically to see how you're all doing and offer input where I can, as my schedule permits.
