The Different Types of Zones

There are as many different types of Zones as reasons to build them!

Portfolio Zone

Showcase your literary talents and accomplishments right here on Helium with a Portfolio Zone.  Want to post your Helium articles,  about the current weather at your favorite place? A list of favorite movies? A Helium Personal Zone lets you paint a portrait of yourself and your life with links, video, pictures and words. Or, maybe your "you" is a family. Upload photos from your vacation and videos of Junior's first steps. You can even let individual family members build their own personal Zones to create an ultimate family community. Here's an example of a Personal Zone.

Any Title You'd Like

Create a Zone using whatever title you'd like. We leave it up to you to choose the best title for your Zone. Just like an article title, it is important to choose relevant and descriptive titles.

Look through the 10,000 most popularly searched "How To" titles on the Internet. Build a great Zone, choose helpful keywords, get inbound links, and watch your traffic increase.

Getting Approval for Your First Zone

This step is only necessary for first-time Zone managers. We want to make sure you fully understand the Zones concept before yours goes live. If you are editing your own blog/user profile Zone, this step does not apply.

When ready to publish, you will see a “Request Approval” option at the top of the edit screen.

Click that link and your request will be entered into a queue sent to our Helium administrators. If your Zone is deemed ready for prime time, you will be notified via your Helium message inbox.

Once approved you need no further approvals to make updates, and you will be authorized to create up to three Zones.

How to Edit Properties of Your Zone

A Zone can be edited by its Zone manager, any Helium administrator, or users listed as contributing editors.
