A look at the world through teenaged eyes

From one teen to you.

on Dec 30, 09 at 02:32 AM

An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth, seem to be the guiding truths behind life as we know it. Gossip, backstabbing, and fighting amongst friends all run rampant in school, and out of it. I've seen my own friends smiling and chatting with somebody one moment, and then as soon as they're gone all hell breaks loose. My question is a simple one: what happens when kindness is seen as weak? When kindness is lost to us all?

It appears as if the only acceptable reactions we can have to others is one filled with ambivalence, anger, or hatred. Why is it that the person that stops to listen to someone's fears, dreams, problems, or happy moments is seen as a pansy? Isn't it precisely this that we all want from our peers, the knowledge that they will be there for you? Hate, anger, and ambival

Welcome to Teenagerhood

Teenager.  Stuck between childhood and adulthood.  You know what? That does not stop you from having an opinion or a well-constructed argument why it is valid.

With your younger siblings looking up to you and your parents looking down, it is hard sometimes to hold true to yourself and not cave to the pressure.  Guess what?  You are not alone.

Teens from around the globe have come here to teach parents and each other a few things.  Helium has designed a place for you to write about the things which affect your daily existence.  Click on the search button "Teens views" (look to the left) to find a plethora of titles.

Creative genius, are you?  Take a scroll through the thousands of creative titles.  Whether you are a budding novelist, struggling screenwriter, pithy comedian, situational satirist or a master poet, there is a title for you.

Up for a mental pugilistic skills test?  Helium debates let you show your arguing prowess.

Don't feel like writing? Read to your heart's content. Whether you want to learn stuff for school, what other teens are doing or just for amusement and relaxation, scroll around and enjoy.

But most of all...enjoy.  Some adult is going to tell you these are the best years of your life.  Even if you don't see it now, you will look back and be glad you got to be a teenager!

Well, it seems that with the closing of the Studio form, this would be the prime spot for Helium's teen poets to come to, no?

Sorry about the incredible delay in the update. The School musical took all my time- and this week has been me playing catch up. Thanks for all who waited- and hope those who are new enjoy.
