I finally found the Channel Stewards Zone! It seems that every time I turn around there's something new on Helium. It has grown so much since I joined in Mar 09. There are a lot of talented writers here. Let's collect somemore!

Hi! I am looking for insight on copyright of objects in photos. One of my dreams is to publish photo books with inspirational messages. My first question is, if there are no people in my picture and no copyright objects such as Nascar, etc. can I use pictures of cars or animals without owners consent? Thank you for your help! Nice to meet you all. I recently wrote 3 articles for Religion and Spirituality channel. How do I know about the feedback from the readers? Jaya Huprikar

I have visited the Zone and it is great. It is hoped that there could be more articles about Soccer. I am willing to contribute not just profiles but match analysis of the US Soccer Team.

It is good to be able to know who is in charge of what. I am curious as to how you get your zone linked to a channel. I created a Hiking and Nature Zone as Well as Nevis Eastern Caribbean Zone and requested links. They have been pending now since February.

Risa again. I'll get the hang of it. Found one of my sub-channels on the second try.

Hi, Ray, Jim and the rest of the Gang, Please excuse a "newbie" steward. I seem to be the latest addition to sub-channel stewards. I need some tips. For instance, I now have channel choice when rating, which is lovely, but my channels are not on the list. Then, I know that we are supposed to help with the weeding in our channels, particularly when rating? And so on. Mild case of confusion at the moment.

What is a Steward?

Stewards are writers' and readers' guides around Helium.  Their "contact this writer" buttons always work, and if they don't know, they will find an answer to your questions.

They have amassed articles in their chosen subject, and many others, and are willing to share that knowledge with any who would seek it.

Imbibed in the spirit of giving, stewards help readers find material, writers find their voice and everyone find Helium.

Conduits in the information chain, stewards bring Helium news to the public eye.  They Twitter and stumble upon most everything, even if they Digg it, too.

Real world knowledge comes from their hands on experiences.  Stewards open windows.

Quality is the steward mantra.  In their own writing, in the writing of their mentees, on the Helium site, they strive to bring the best information to the fore through writing, rating and education.

Many stewards inhabit the forums.  They are the writer's pipeline into Helium.  By suggesting titles, opening debates and listening to the writers, stewards find ways to bring knowledge to everyone.

Stewards learn.  They keep their minds open to opposing opinion, marketing strategy, hot topics, demands for content and new ways to educate themselves, all while finding new ways to help Heliumites the world over.

If you need a hand, a steward will be there.

If you would like to lend a hand, become a steward. Read Barbara Whitlock's article on the Steward Program.

We are all here for you.
