First How-To Step When hosting a Bridal Shower the first step is to get yourself organized. Work up a few shower ideas along with a list of games and foods to be served. Get with the bride and run these by her. This will make hosting her bridal shower a lot easier on yourself. Besides this moment is her moment so involve her in the shower planning.
Next is to decide on the location you want to host the shower at. Does the bride want it to be elalorate or more of an intimate affair?
If she has a lot of family and friends she wants invited, you might want to consider hosting the shower at a community building or country club where it will hold a lot of people.
If she wants a more intimate shower, consider hosting her shower at a home or nice resturant which has rooms you can rent by the hour.
If the weather is nice you could even host her bridal shower at a park or garden area. Just take into consideration those attending as well as the bride and plan according to what will work well for the whole.
Now all the ins and outs that come with hosting the shower you need to take care of. Ask the bride some questions so you can accomplish everything else that needs to be done for her shower.
1. What's her favorite kind of cake?
2. What's her favorite color. ( you might want to stick with her wedding colors though)
3. Does she want to hand out party favors for the guest to go home with
4. Will there be door prizes
5. What kind of punch or drinks would she like to be served
6. Does she want a meal or snacks to be served
7. When would she like to shower to start
8. How long would she like it to last
Ask anything you might think is pertenant to a successful bridal shower. You don't need to tell her what it's going to look like or how you are going to set it up. Let that the a secret and surprise.
Finally make a list of those who will attend. Get with the bride and work with her in compiling the list and getting addresses. Mail out the invitations at least a week ahead of time or two weeks so arrangements can be made early by those attending.
Be sure to enclose the date, location, size of the brides apparell and time. Notate if it's a themed shower and enclose directions on what you want the guest to do.
