Hurricane Season and the Hurricane Hunters

U.S. Navy Hurricane Hunter Aircraft on patrol over the Atlantic prior to 1970. Lockheed WC121N Super Constellation aircraft were equipped with powerful search radar for navigation and viewing the size and shape of a hurricane. The upper dome housed a height-finding radar that displayed a vertical picture of a hurricane's eyewall cloud.
