All about Helium's Credentialed Professional Program

Helium.com houses the largest writing community in the world, encompassing both professional writers and a diverse collection of professionals who write. Helium's professional badges help you get recognized and noticed for the expertise you've earned.

Each professional recognized at Helium must pass through a simple credential-verifying process with Helium staff. With recognition comes opportunities in Helium's Marketplace and Contests. Publishers find the professionals they need to write authoritative content for their publications. And professionals share their knowledge broadly in specialty channels throughout Helium.com.

If you are a Helium writer seeking professional recognition, write to experts@helium.com to begin the credential-verifying process.

If you are a publisher seeking expert content to meet your publishing needs, write to partners@helium.com.

I've spoken to you about badges for alternative health practitioners with qualifications. Are we any nearer to getting them?

Barbara, I got an Email about teacher articles in the marketplace. I am not a teacher in the traditional sense. I went to college to teach History, but didn't continue with that career. I am a Neuro- rehabilitation Life skills therapist specializing in behavioral problems caused by traumatic brain injuries. I also hold credentials to teach in several areas relating to Marine Corps combat schools and Professional Body Piercing. I don't know if any of these will fit into the parameters of Helium's professional teaching guidelines. Thanks, Scott

I am a fully qualified Astrologer and also have qualifications in journalism and comprhensive writing. I have a certificate in Rieke and would like to know where I fit in to have accreditation. I was not aware of these changes and just spent time writing an article for the market place to discover I need to be in a group.

I agree with the points with regards to business professionals. Alternatively it would be good to have badges for specific functional professionals such as marketeers. Association memberships and degree certificates could be evidence.

Yes, as Ms. Boris have said, it'll be so wonderful to have professionals badges for those of us who are experts in uncoventional areas. I just love to write and am an experienced tutor. Anything for that? Thanks!

Hello, Barbara! Do you expect to have an "experts" badge soon (eg, writers who write mainly in one general category)? Those of us with years of life experience in certain area deserve a nod as to their credibility. Or, do you expect to offer one for professional freelance writers? We are also professionals! Thank you! - Laurie Boris

I'll second Gary's motion for a business professional. There are several reputable certifications I can think of, although I understand that it does become more complicated. From my own field and experience, I would suggest Six Sigma Green Belts, Black Belts, Master Black Belts and Lean Experts as credentials for quality experts. The unfortuante thing about those is that many organizations offer the same or similar qualifications; reputable programs I would include would be ASQ, Honeywell, GE and Motorola, at a minimum. In supply chain, I would recommend using APICS certifications, CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management) and CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional) which are very widely recognized in the field. There is also a CPM certification (Certified Project Manager) through another organization which I can't think of off the top of my head. Hope that helps!

Hi Gary, Business professionals in as area we are exploring, but it's trickier to find precise certificates/licenses to represent them. We are not basing badges on just degrees but some professional work that has specific credentialing. I'm open to all your suggestions. Can you write to me at bwhitlock@helium.com? Thanks, Barbara

I would like to see perhaps "Business Professionals" included as a category. I hold multiple certifications in various business disciplines and would certainly enjoy the added exposure and recognition as I am sure many of my peers would. How could this be made possible?
