Strategies and tools for getting out for credit card debt.

Getting out of debt.

Credit card debt isn't always the result of irresponsible spending.  Unexpected bills or losses of income can often force consumers to take on debt.  Medical bills, home repairs, and basic expenses are some of the most common reasons for people to carry a balance of their credit card.

Getting out debt isn't easy, but there are strategies that can help.  Unfortutely, there are also many websites out there that claim to offer advice but are really trying to sell a product such as a book, a DVD, or a credit counseling service.  This zone is a resource for free information on managing credit card debt.  The articles posted here are written by Helium authors who are not promoting a business or selling a product, just offering honest advice.

More Advice on Getting Out of Credit Card Debt

  • You should be absolutely unwilling to pay only the minimum balance on your credit cards each month. If you can't afford to pay more than the minimum balance, you can't afford whatever it was you charged to the card in the first place.
  • If you find yourself in credit card debt, consider the following tips for getting out of debt, and staying out.
  • Imagine being free of debt -- no more sleepless nights over mounting credit card balances, no more ball-and-chain of debt feeding your anxieties, and no chance of threats from dreaded collection agencies. You can do it! Here's the scoop -- in one minute flat.
  • With debt close to an all time high in the US, reducing your credit card debt is an important way to reach financial health. There are several principles and methods to follow to help reduce and get rid of your credit card debt.
  • Enter your credit card balance and interest rate. Then enter the monthly payment you can afford, OR your deadline to be debt-free. Leave the other window blank. Click calculate to get the results.
