Lance Armstrong - Breaks Collarbone

I'm alive! Broken clavicle (right). Hurts like hell for now. Surgery in a couple of days. Thanks for all the well wishes.

via Lance Armstrong

It is good to hear from this great cyclist, to know he is coming through it, this is the same man who has survived cancer and rode again, the same man who has been accused of doping to improve his overall performance when riding. Which was later disproven, or disbarred, I don't remember which off the top of my head, but what I do know is that a man who has survived through such challenges only gets stronger through them.

He plans to do something not done before in the competive cycling arena, to compete in 3 events in a matter of only days. An endurance run of sorts, the point being that Lance Armstrong the person is a survivor and as such will come through this stronger then before. So from me to you I wish the best for Lance Armstrong in this coming season and look forward to seeing him ride once more.

About Raymond Marr

Bicycling - Two Brothers on A ride. To speak on riding a bike as a life choice, to progress through life on two wheels and travelling by Human Power. It is surely the most exciting way to move, improving your health and improving the environment. So why is it so many still drive cars?

In my own opinion it seems it is a lack of awareness that on a bicycle you are able to many of the same things you would do in a car. Extending your life, and improving the environment as a whole.

Bicycling In The Mountains

The wonders of bicycling spoke on and understood, by getting out there and riding a mountain with a Mountain Bike, cruising with my brother, just enjoying the sun, the air and the exhiliration of a great climb and the descent fast and exciting.

And the story continues in the video below, of bicycling with my brother, even if he went down in the end, good we were taking the time, to be safe and at the bottom of that hill patched him up and we were on our way to home.

The bicycle is a curious vehicle.  Its passenger is its engine.  ~John Howard

Thefts at Amgen? Why would someone even consider that?

Just updated information on Zabrieskie burglary case @ Bicycling with Knatchwa

Zabriskie's home burglarized

While the Web-based cycling community was all a-Twitter over the recent theft and return of Lance Armstrong's time trial bike, another cyclist has suffered a bigger loss of personal property, but did not discover it until he returned from the recent Amgen Tour of California.

A pic of the stolen tt bike. There is only one like it in the... on TwitPic

The thief cut the padlock on Armstrong's Team Astana trailer parked in an alley on L Street between 15th and 16th streets some time between 8 p.m. Saturday and 6:30 a.m. Sunday, Sacramento Police Sgt. Norm Leong said. Of the 26 bikes parked inside, the thief or thieves grabbed the first four they could reach, including Armstrong's bike and three others belonging to teammates, Leong said.

Updated: A total of four bikes were stolen from the Astana Team Trailor, parked in an alley before Stage 1 of the Amgen Tour of California Begin this morning, thieves break a padlock and take the first four. Does it seem like it was planned or just a chance occurence?

Why would someone steal a time trial bike from Amgen? Not to mention there was other thefts there at the event, with Lance Armstrong returning back to the mix, what will it look like before it is over? Get the word out about the bike, a reward is offered and charma will most certainly bite back.

Such a sad story, but guess it can also say why it is important to keep your bike secure, even if it is at a very specific cycling event, which it's purpose is to help sufferers of cancer. Does it seem Unconsciousable to you?

Updated @ 14:02

It appears, a sacramento officer has found Lance's Bike though stripped down:

Has it Been Found?

Let us hope for the sake of this tour, that is a fact, no news on the others that were stolen.Hopefully more good news coming soon.

As I started to think about it I realize now that there is great wonders to be found when you travel through life on a bicycle, there are many things that would otherwise be lost and forgotten, passed up as so many things are when traveling in a car going 55.

It is not only in the benefits to the environment that each grows and becomes better through but it is also in the health benefits gained through that specific journey. Extending life by taking life at a different pace, through human power. There are some who realise that in example this quote from New York Times;

Residents of this upscale community are suburban pioneers, going where few soccer moms or commuting executives have ever gone before: they have given up their cars.

Stage 2: Bicycling as a Life Choice

From the build to the production stage, and there is so much more to come in the not to distant future, as particularly, in the economy today, whatever means you can save money would make sense, and really there is little other choice in the matter. So why not take the time now to explore this alternative to travel by automobile, that improves your health and the environment. What more can you ask for, as the journey it continues.

With stage 1 just getting started, the progress should be constant moment by moment, such as focusing forward in life. With Amgen Tour Of California kicking off as the day begins tomorrow, I will offer what I can,  explore the situation, from my own perspective so keep checking back, as I setup some feeds specific for the Tour
