Defensive Player of the Year!

James Harrison has been a forced to be reckoned all season. The 6', 242 lb outside line backer has 93 tackles, 33 assists and 16 sacks to his credit for this season. An undisputed powerhouse in the number one ranked defense, Harrison is the first Steeler to be awarded the NFL Defensive Player of the Year since Rod Woodson in 1993.

The outside linebacker team of Harrison and Lamarr Woodley have been a factor throughout the 2008 season.

I agree Wayne. We'll see if Fitzgerald can run on us the way he did on Philly! I'm calling the Steelers by 10.

So glad to see the black and gold Superbowl bound, Tina! If my beloved Buffalo Bills can't be there, the Steelers will be a most worthy substitute. Thanks for creating this very cool Zone. ~Jim

The Steelers ended a disappointing season and left their fans the sad choice of rooting for Peyton Manning and the Colts, or Drew Brees and the Saints. I'll have to take the Saints. They're long overdue for a morale booster in Louisiana at any rate. Personally, I like Peyton Manning much better in his goofy commercial spots than I do on the football field. He's got a great arm but once he's thrown off his rhythm he pouts like a school boy. (as has happened in most meetings with the Steeler D)  It's just not a pretty sight.

So... a little Super Bowl party, it's still football after all, and on to hopes for next season. What's the fate of our beloved Troy? He certainly has become increasingly injury prone. Our secondary seems to collapse without him on the field to be everywhere. Big Ben's s

Mike Tomlin, with his usual graciousness, accepted the Motorola Coach of the Year award yesterday. Tomlin is the youngest coach in NFL history to take his team to the SuperBowl. Congratulations, Mike!

Santonio Holmes must have been feeling left out of the media as he announced he sold drugs in his younger days. Say good-bye, Mr. Holmes! The Rooneys do not like controversy. They forgave you for getting busted outside Heinz Field smoking weed, I doubt that you will get to three strikes.

Black and Gold fever is rampant in Pittsburgh as fans rally in all types of weather. Many areas of the country just can't relate to the level of intensity of Steelers fans. Terrible Towels will be waving all over the nation on Sunday. There are Steeler Sports bar in nearly every major city in the United State
