We will soon know what Pennsylvania's most famous groundhog has to say about the end of winter in Pittsburgh. Whatever Punxsutawney Phil proclaims on February 2nd, Pittsburghers know winter isn't over just yet. It's been an odd year, alternating between heavy rains and lake effect snows. We had snow on Christmas morning, which is an unusual event in recent years, but it was nearly gone by the end of the day.

Who can forget the blizzard of '93 when more than two feet of snow fell in March? Phil predicted 6 more weeks of winter that year. Just because the calendar says it's coming near the end of winter, that doesn't mean winter is still around. Well, we'll wait to see what Phil has to say tomorrow. See you on Gobbler's Knob!
