About me - Lisa Weber

About me

I have had opinions and stories percolating about inside my head since I was a little girl, but I never found the courage to put those words down on paper.  But now, writing has become a wonderful part of my life which I hope to continue to explore and expand into different genre and interests as I move forward in my life.

In my early 20’s I quit college and joined the Navy so that I could “see the world.”  It turned out to be the best decision of my life because I ended up graduating from the Navy’s Medical Laboratory Technician School in San Diego and then was shipped off to Hawaii where I met my husband.  Now, I am a stay-at-home mom to four children and wife to a career Army pilot (he switched services) currently living in Upstate, New York.

Living the military life has afforded me the opportunity to learn from a wide variety of experiences such as living in different cities and rural areas all over the country, dealing with deployments, raising children in the military environment, and being exposed to many different educational choices for our children.  In addition to enrolling the kids in public and DOD (Department of Defense) schools, we have homeschooled the children in three different states.

I am a huge sports fan, and have played volleyball and soccer competitively my entire life (as well as a little golf just to fuel my sadistic side).  And now, with the kids entering into their own sports adventures, my husband and I are beginning to dust off our old coaching clipboards so that we can help them on their way.

As the Steward for the US Military Channel here at Helium, I am committed to making it the “go to” place for military analysis and information.  If you need any help or have any suggestions, please feel free to contact me at any time.
