I have always had a passion for the arts, including creative writing, music, and drawing. In recent years, I have focused more and more on writing. My favorite writing subjects include alternative health, gardening, and spirituality. As Channel Manager for Alternative Health, I feel privileged to share knowledge and learn from other members of the Helium community
I grew up in New York and New Hampshire. In 1986,and graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a BA in Political Science; I received a JD from Vermont Law School in 1992. As I pursued these degrees, I gradually realized that my true calling was that of a writer and artist. My academic endeavors, although not directly related to the arts, have given me the self-discipline necessary for a creative life.
My interest in alternative health began in 1998, after I was hit by a car and received effective care from a chiropractor. I began my study of natural healing in a correspondence course with the British Institute of Homeopathy. I began to read and learn from whatever alternative health books and periodicals I could get my hands on. In 2009-2010, I studied herbal medicine with herbalist and author Susun Weed.
In 2004, I moved to Arizona, where I worked as a data base manager for an ecologist, and then as a shift coordinator at a faith-based shelter for women and children. I moved to Texas in March 2009 to marry my husband John, and currently am a homemaker and writer.
As a Helium writer and Channel Manager, I am blessed to be able to share the health wisdom handed down from my teachers and to learn from other writers as well. Helium has provided me with opportunities and challenges that any writer would value. The supportive community here is the best resource of all.
Other than writing, my favorite activities include reading, cooking, drawing, pastel, crochet, and knitting. Anything involving creativity and the arts will capture my attention!
