Born and raised at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, I am the mother of two wonderful adult children and about to become a Grandmother for the first time. My life has been an adventure, one filled with ups and downs, heartache and joy. I have held a variety of jobs ranging from warehouse worker to nursing in a long term care facility, but my greatest joy has always been my children. I have recently been trying to make a number of positive changes in my life, trying to distant myself from the negatives and surround myself with people who have a positive impact on me. Each day I try to learn something new and to share the things I have learned along the way.
My passion is ...
My children, writing, music
I know too much about ...
Pain and loss but am learning more everyday about happiness and security. I firmly believe that everything that has happened in our past, whether good or bad, makes us the person we are today.
My parents always told me ...
that I could do anything I set my mind to.
My childhood ambition ...
to be a good wife and mother and to contribute something that may possibly make a difference in someones life.
My favorite memory ...
those with my children, and the wonderful times I spent with Granny while she was still with us.
Why I write ...
To express my feelings toward those I love and my children, to help me deal with the pain and difficult times in my past, with the hope that something I say may help someone in some small way. I also write to be heard, to have an opinion, something I was denied for many years.
What I am reading/watching/listening to ...
I spend a good deal of time listening to a varitey of music, and watching shows such as Criminal Minds, Law & Order SVU, and CSI
My first job ...
helping my dad.
My best moment ...
The day my children were born.
My inspiration ...
My children, my loved ones, my friends.
