About me - Joan Collins

About me

I am an educator, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. I have been teaching for all of my adult life and I have to say that it is a perfect fit for me. I work with middle school-aged kids and I love it! I work in the private sector and cannot imagine doing anything else!

I write to share knowledge gained over the years, to force myself to gain more knowledge as I research, and because it is just plain fun. It is a challenge for me, a wordy teacher, to complete succinct articles. I enjoy editing and rewriting to create a more perfect article. Helium challenges me like no other site that I write for and I absolutely love writing here.

How fun would it be for kids to create Christmas crafts that remind them of the love behind Christmas? Have your kids try these 'How the Grinch Stole Christmas' crafts and you may see their heart grow three times its regular size! The Grinch movie used over 52,000 Christmas lights so crafting with light bulbs is a good place to start. Give each child a large Christmas bulb. Let them paint a picture on the bulb.
