Hello! I'm Nick Somoski - I've been writing both in my spare time and as a career now for 20 years now. I'm married, with a beautiful wife named Rebecca of going on 20 years now. I have 3 wonderful children, and I love to write. It's something I'm good at, and I hope everyone agrees! :)
I've previously worked for my local newspaper as an editorialist for 14 years, and it really was a blast - I honestly can't complain. In the last year, however, I've quit my job to become a full stay-at-home Dad. It's an equally as great job, and I'm honored to be able to spend so much time with my children. I've fallen back on online writing jobs as my source of income. Among those is Helium, where I'm able to find a decent source of income from month to month. I find I get a lot of my inspiration from my family and friends, but also from my life, my childhood, and my past experiences. Writing is just fun; it's too bad more people don't feel that way.
I'm the Helium Channel Manager of the Television Subchannel here at Helium. So, if you're writing for that channel, and have any questions, any problems, or any things to pass along, just send me a quick email at somoskin93@yahoo.com, and I'll be happy to help you out. That's what channel stewards are here for, right?
I've been a member of this site for going on a year now, and I love it! It really is a fantastic community with helpful, extremely friendly members and a great writing environment. I'm honored to be a part of it.

My husband just lost his job, so I'm slowly learning how to shop on a budget. Doing grocery for a family of five is no treat, let me tell you. They should be paying me to do the shopping. It's even harder to shop on a strict budget, especially when you're trying to save money. When I walk down the f...
