My passion is ...
my husband, children, grandchildren and "brothers & sisters" in Ecuador.
I know too much about ...
rejection letters.
My parents always told me ...
treasure people over things.
My childhood ambition ...
to be an archaeologist and a writer.
My favorite memory ...
taking a walk in woods near my home and coming upon a meadow where a herd of deer were grazing. Large, wet snowflakes were beginning to fall and the air was crisp and completely silent. The deer stood still, then suddenly bounded from the meadow in unison.
Why I write ...
because words and stories spill from my soul.
What I am reading/watching/listening to ...
reading: Brad Thor's novels; watching Grey's Anatomy; listening to Casting Crowns.
My first job ...
the soda fountain at a Walgreen's drugstore. Lasted the three months of my 16th summer.
My best moment ...
being a finalist in the Women of Achievement contest for the March of Dimes; being chosen as a 2010 Humanitarian of the year; staying up with my mother the last night of her life.
My inspiration ...
my mother, Susan Elizabeth Phillips, Anne Geddes, Colby, Catie, Grace, Sophia, Emily, Evie, Zach, Julia, Jo-Jo, Isabelle, Mason and Elijah.
