I am a full-time freelancer and mother of two who finally found a profitable way to stay home. No, it's certainly not an easy road and it's not always fun, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I'm finally making a living doing the writing I've always loved, I'm able to help other aspiring writers enter the freelancing world and, in my free time, I get to write about subjects I'm truly passionate about on Helium.
Thanks to my transcription and internet marketing services, I find myself constantly exposed to many different fields. On a daily basis, I am expanding my knowledge of business, personal finance, electronics, and even video games to better serve my clients. This knowledge, coupled with my own marketing and business experience, has provided me with a rich base from which to produce quality content for Helium.
My hobbies and areas of expertise are as widely varied as they come. Primarily, I've spent a large part of my life engaged in some sort of entrepreneurial pursuit and have absorbed a ton of business information and experience that I love to share. Most of my life I've worked with dogs in one capacity or another, I spent three years as a handler in a sled dog kennel and considerably more years training and showing dogs then training shelter dogs to improve their adoptibility. Tropical fish are a passion of mine, I keep a fish room of 19 aquariums and have been actively learning about them for 15 years now as well as breeding them for sale.
I love to write crafting tips and how-tos, as well as offer craft ideas for various holidays and seasons. My primary outlet for my crafting is my Etsy shop, http://www.etsy.com/shop/wyobeads where I display and sell items that I've made from various techniques that I have learned. Feel free to request an article from me explaining certain stitches or techniques you see in my shop.
Animals of all kinds have a special place in my heart and I strive to provide the best forever home I can to the ones that have come into my life. I can only hope that through my writing I can help others do the same and possibly even inspire someone to give a shelter animal a chance.
My passion is ...
Learning about anything I can and then teaching others.
I know too much about ...
The abuses that all living creatures suffer at the hands of uncaring, selfish human beings.
My parents always told me ...
Plan ahead and always stick to my budget plan.
My childhood ambition ...
Work for myself and make enough money that I could indulge in any hobby I wanted.
My favorite memory ...
Riding horses out in the badlands with the friend who stuck by me all through school and still does today.
Why I write ...
Ideas and new information keep me awake at night if they're still swimming around in my head, so I offload them into articles.
What I am reading/watching/listening to ...
I watch all kinds of movies, listen to all types of music (except not too big on rap and hip-hop...I'm a country gal), and I'm probably curled up reading a random non-fiction I found on the library shelves.
My first job ...
I created...my mom managed a motel, so I started a gift shop in the lobby and sold calling cards.
My best moment ...
Curled up on the couch with my husband, son, and miniature schnaupin.
My inspiration ...
Strong women all throughout history who have made things happen, and my husband who is like me...he doesn't have a will, he has a force of nature.
With mounting controversy surrounding advertising in numerous industries, perhaps the greatest scrutiny falls on direct-to-consumer prescription drug ads – and with good reason. These advertisements consist of the manufacturer’s portrayal of any and all types of prescription drugs available on the market, so that any given person need never step foot into a doctor’s office in order to feel informed about the options that are available for any given malady. Is this a good thing for consumers? Let’s just say that there’s a very good reason why these types of adv...
