I have been writing since I was eight years old, but I really didn't become serious about writing until I was in High School.
Although I went through my childhood and adolescence thinking that I would become a doctor, my heart was truly in writing; but writing does not pay the bills, so I went to college and majored in biology.
I continued to write despite my major, and in 1999 I compiled all of my writing from high school on and put in for a copyright. That was my first book, which is still unpublished, but it's there.
After a long stint at Cal State Long Beach and numerous major changes, I was influenced by an instructor to "do what you know", so I changed my major for the last time to English, with an emphasis in Creative Writing
I received my BA in Creative Writing from California State University, Long Beach in December of 2005, and although still unpublished, I look forward to the day when I will go into some obscure bookstore and see a book written by me.
