I am a retired teacher. I miss the classroom, so I substitute. It is just right for me because it allows me to be in the classroom a few times a week. I feel blessed to have a career that I love. My other passions are reading, writing and sewing. As a language teacher I taught writing and it was wonderful to see my students succeed in their efforts. Maybe I will see one of them writing for Helium. That would be great. Writing for Helium is a good way for me to keep up on the education field and stay in the loop. Other teachers write and I read to learn.

Because I like to write. It is sort of therapeutic and relaxing. I would like to think that my experiences help another teacher through . I have learned a lot and know there is more for me to experience and would like to have an opportunity share with someone.

This is an almost untouchable topic to address after "No Child Left Behind" has been in the forefront. I chose the 'best' side because no one has written anything about this side of the debate. A debate on this topic would be very interesting. As a language arts teacher, I look at the choice of words in the title. The words 'best' and 'worst' are opinion terms.
