About me

Barb Hopkins is a stay-at-home mom with a degree in Theatre Arts Management. Prior to her current position, she worked professionally as a marketing director for the Illinois Shakespeare Festival.

During her marketing career she wrote many press releases, public service announcements and several local and regional radio commercials. As a volunteer for events like The American Cancer Society's Relay For Life, she has contributed articles for local newspapers. As a member of MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) she created and wrote the group's monthly newsletter.

Barb is an avid reader and even spent four years as the Preschool Reading Program Leader at her local District Library. She has written one unpublished book and has a second Young Adult novel in progress.

Since joining Helium she has been challenged when writing some articles and has experienced sheer joy with others. She looks forward to writing each day because she knows just how powerful the written word is and how what she writes can influence others.
