I am a writer, close to a BA in Social Sciences and worked in special ED for 15 years and a preschool teacher for 5 years. I'm now retired and enjoying writing on helium. I have gotten courage from Helium to submit my articles and stores to other places. I am grateful for the support I feel I get from Helium and also the links to other sites they have helped to spread my wings. I am married with 3 grown boys and 7 grandchildren. Jimmy my papillon puppy has started to write about his live as a rescue dog. He thinks if Martha Stewart'sdogs can have a blog so can he. I am not so sure, but he is persuasive. Resources for teachers through the public schools are dwindling as Federal and State Funds are being cut. Programs like art, music, and physical education are being cut out of budget. The arts or physical activities give children an outlet for their energy. Some children are lost without the music, art, or physical education.
