Welcome to Helium! My name is W. Diane Van Zwol. As your Channel Manager for the Medical Ethics sub-channel, I am pleased to be able to offer my assistance to aspiring writers in this intriguing, expanding and challenging field, as well as others.
I have recently retired as a Registered Nurse who taught LPNs, in a college in Vancouver, B.C., in the year 2010. My nursing background is in pediatrics, doctor's office nursing, private duty nursing, palliative care nursing and community nursing.
Love poetry is my passion!
"Love has a multiplicity, diversity and complexity of expression."
My "Love 2000 AD" poetry project was started in 1997, when I returned to Thunder Bay, Ontario (Canada), the place where I was born. In 1998, I registered a company called Amazon Art Reproductions, for the publication of love poetry, in conjunction with artwork and photography.
Prior to that time, seeking to advance my education, beyond the realm of nursing, I obtained certification as a Counselor from Mohawk College (1980-1982), in Hamilton (Ontario). This gave me fresh insight and appreciation for the way people think, feel and respond to one another.
Obtaining my Bachelor of Arts (Honors) in Religious Studies at McMaster University (1982-1990), in Hamilton (Ontario), opened vast, new horizons of thought and poetic inspiration for me.
Completing my Master of Arts degree in Philosophy, at Brock University (1990-1997) in St. Catharines, (Ontario), gave me a heightened awareness and broader perspective on life. It also inspired me to continue to expand my own body of writing, as one of my goals is to obtain a PHD.
Recently, I have become more seriously involved in freelance writing. I have become increasingly aware of the global need for health care and health care education.
With regard to love poetry, I continue to expand this horizon as well, working on a "Love 2010 AD" poetry project. Being able to write in a number of different genres, I have published a collection of articles and poetry on associated.content.com and on my own blog sites.
While I prefer to write on inspiration, I invariably find that doing research continually expands my horizons. I am always open to a new challenge and enjoy mentoring other writers, as they invariably prove to have astounding knowledge and insight!

My childhood ambition ...
was to explore the world and the vast mysteries that can be found it.
My favorite memory ...
is of my early childhood years, when we lived on my grandfather's farm.
Why I write ...
is simply because I know that in some way, for some unknown reason, I am inspired to write.
What I am reading/watching/listening to ...
is very diverse, but I love music, artwork, movies and photography.
My first job ...
baby sitting children in our neighborhood.
My best moment ...
was when I saw a double rainbow in Alberta, in 1984. I realized the God-given potential that lies dormant within each one of us, including me.

comes from the world around me and from deep within.
