Famous feud. Played out between 1865 and 1891.

Hatfields. McCoys. Kentucky. West Virginia.

Both states can claim the violence and the fame.

These two canny clans were ultimate enemies.

How did it really happen though?

No simple answers. I'm left with too many questions...

Was the infamous pig really stolen or did it wander away?

Or did the Hatfields and McCoys turn into bitter enemies

because of land disputes and ill-fated love affairs?

No doubt the Civil War played an important part

in the feud that claimed twelve or thirteen lives.
