My writing spans a wide range of topics on which I have an interest and knowledge or where knowledge can be supplemented through research.

I author a number of blogs that include articles on a wide range of topics and edit a newsletter for a self-help support group. Member contributions to the newsletter are rare, so it's generally up to me to both write and source material!

Areas of specialisation include life insurance, business management and business strategy. Life insurance occupied a large chunk of my professional life, providing me with in-depth knowledge and understanding of the industry and its products.

My knowledge of business is derived from years of experience in the field coupled with studies towards an MBA which I completed at the University of South Africa (UNISA) School of Business Leadership (SBL).

My business knowledge and insight has ensured that I have retained some professional involvement in the academic world.

Other business activities include business consulting mostly relating to re-engineering and Information Technology projects.

Born in South Africa, my family emigrated with me at a young age because of their deep involvement in the anti-apartheid movement. After living in Israel

and the UK for a number of years, I returned to South Africa in 1979 where I have remained ever since.

My family plays a very special and central role in my life. My wife is an artist and nursery school teacher. Some of her work can be viewed through the links on this page.

My three sons are growing up and are beginning to make their own way through life - a new adventure!

Other great life interests include music (I play the piano and guitar to an extent), photography, economics, religion and politics ... many of which are represented in my writing.
