My passion for training animals starts in my early childhood, training cats to run down hills at the blow of a whistle and training horses to do tricks. In 2006, I started working for an AAHA animal hospital, and then in 2007, I worked as a shelter volunteer helping out and fostering pets in need of temporary homes.
In 2008, I started training dogs in my spare time and finally in 2010, (after undergoing 219 hours of apprehentship under the guidance a master dog trainer) I obtained certification as a dog trainer by APICC, the Italian Association for Dog Trainers. After giving classes in basic and advanced obedience and spending the summer teaching Canine Freestyle, I am back to the States and just recently obtained certification by the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers. This certification allows me to use the CPDT-KA initials after my name.
I use scientifically based training methods focusing on the rewarding world of positive reinforcement training. My home is surrounded by dog books and I try my best to keep up-to-date with the latest dog training/dog behavior trends. At this time, I am working with the shelter, fostering a dog and teaching it tricks to increase adoptability.
Since 2005, I am a dog expert writer and have several published articles pertaining dogs. I overlook the dog training and dog psychology channels for Helium and work as a consultant for dog training and dog behavioral problems. I also have over 1,000 followers on my dog blog and own two dog related websites which are steadily gaining popularity. I am currently owned by my two beloved Rottweilers, Petra and Kaiser, and 16 chicken.
I am eager to learn much more and grow professionally both in writing articles and training dogs. Learning is a life long process and I am surely eager to learn as much as I can! I hope you enjoy my articles, and that you find them useful!

Having worked at a veterinary hospital for some time, I have learned about some good old home remedies for a dog's upset stomach. At the veterinary clinic, we offered these tips as an option to clients when we had no same day appointments. If followed carefully, these natural home remedies may help sooth an upset stomach or even heal it in the best cases. However, while most cases may benefit from a home remedy, there are some circumstances, where home remedies are not sufficient and where medical treatment is really the only option.
