About me - Rex Trulove

About me

To Rex, writing is very important in his life, and it is a passion. He's written for newsletters, has written numerous technical FAQ's for several companies, and has 3 published books. He's proud of those works and the articles he has on Helium.

Of the books, all are science fantasies. The first is named Shadow On The Land, and was his first completed novel published.

Rex is one of Helium's Senior Channel Managers, there to help you with any issues he can regarding writing or the site. He is also the administrator of the community boards, and works in the areas of fact checking, editing, title editing, and title seeding.

In addition, he is the root manager for the Celebrations channel and is the manager of the Vegetables, Fruits & Herbs channel.

For schooling, Rex went to Oregon Institute of Technology with a major in computer sciences and twin minors in mathematics and general science. He has an intense interest in astronomy, botany, zoology, geology, climatology, physics, and chemistry. He is proud of the 3.86 GPA he achieved in college.

This man is a lover of the outdoors and of animals. His wife and he have nursed many wild animals back to health and ha has spent decades as a wildlife rehabilitator. The wildlife seems to know it, when they go out into the woods. It is rare for them to go out camping without having a close encounter with one wild animal or another, often even entering the camp site without concern. They learn a great deal from these experiences, and Rex sometimes writes about them. Camping and fishing are favorite past times, as well as helping people.

Rex has had the great pleasure of rehabilitating many creatures through the years; squirrels, martins, foxes, owls, hawks, and more.

He also grew up in a national park, and has toured many more. His traveling has been confined mostly to the US, but he has seldom been unable to find beauty in any location he has visited. Though he loves the mountains, he is at home in the desert or flatland as well.

Music is another interest, and Rex plays 8 musical instruments, though he claims that he plays none of them well. Still, he does play piano, keyboard, guitar, organ, trumpet, sax, accordion and autoharp,  He also likes to sing.

To contact Rex directly, email him at str8fax@gmail.com. Comments or questions about his articles or books, or about Helium, are gladly accepted.

This is a person who also loves what many people might think of as trivia. Sometimes those facts come in handy, and he's always looking to learn something new. If that knowledge can then help others, so much the better. If nothing else, it helps with his writing.

As of 2007, Rex has worked for the last fifteen years as a Computer Technical Support Engineer and senior support technician, besides his other pursuits. Prior to that, he worked as a restaurant manager at two restaurants, as a forest fire fighter, in a plant nursery, as a researcher, and as a survival instructor.

The extended Trulove family lives primarily in Oregon, in the Pacific Northwest where Rex also enjoys helping and teaching people in such diverse topics as wilderness survival, camping/hunting/fishing skills and Shamanism. Even more, he loves learning, and that is a life long quest. Rex is an ordained minister, avid gardener, and enjoys camping and fishing. He is an herbalist, and has a website at sensations.freewebpage.org that is related to being a herbalist.

In October of 2011, Rex and his wife moved to Montana and are enjoying mountain life there.
