I've ended up having a lot of fun on Helium. I've written nearly 1,000 articles in the last year, and was one of the winners in their "Fundamentals of Journalism" contest. One November I even became Helium's top-earning writer, and earned over $1,000 during Helium's "Reward-a-Thon" promotion.
But mostly I've enjoyed having a place to share memories of TV shows, children's books, and my own opinions about movies, music, and life itself.
The internet is a crazy place. (I've been online more than 15 years, and it's still always surprising me.) My Helium articles cover everything from "How to Convert a Salary to an Annual Wage" to "How to Cancel Your AOL Account!" But my ultimate goal is to earn money online while writing about whatever I want.
Helium is one place to start the search for my dream...and I hope it works out!

With a salary of $40,000 a year, your calculation would look like this. $40,000/2080 = $19.23/hour Now here's a handy trick that makes it even easier. If there were only 50 weeks in a year, that equation would involve a nice, round number, since fifty 40-hour work weeks contain exactly 2,000 hours. Mathematically, this means that simply dividing the annual salary by 2,...
