About me - Lisa Piper

About me

This is always the hardest part...talking about myself. I'm not paranoid about seeming conceited however, but I just don't know what people want to know. We can go over the mundane age, sex, and location. There's also the completely cliche 'I like long walks on the beach...' How can you really get into someone's head and learn what they are all about from typical statements like that?
Ah, music. It's one of "those" kinds of questions, but it does manage to say something about a person. Then there is me. I love everything from heavy metal to classical. That also tells absolutely nothing about me. I answered my own question very vaguely.
Let me try again. I'll tell you about my life as it currently stands. I live in Arizona, but am originally from New Jersey. (I must say, that is a long drive!)I have two sons. My eldest is 7 years old and my youngest is soon to be 5. I am currently attending college and majoring in Pharmacy Technology,  but am looking for something where I can allow my creativity to run wild.                                                                    When I was a child, I always aspired to be a writer. It was my dream. Then came reality, and I thought that I should do what would make the most money for my family. Now I am tired of pretending to be someone I am not. I am not the microbiologist, nor am I the executive businesswoman, though that is the role I used to play. I am just me and am tired of being held back for the money.
As far as my writing goes, I think I have at least thought about most topics out there. I've even contemplated some original topics like the comparison between Reeses cookies and McDonalds. (They are much closer than you'd think.) I have written lots of poetry but alas, they are all collecting dust on my bookshelf. I did some journalism awhile back, but that wasn't quite my fortee. I lean more towards creative writing and things from my point of view. I tend to see things in a more analytical sense than most; or maybe I just see things from a different angle. Another trait that just makes me unique. Here I am in my no-holds-barred free flow of ideas. I am free!

Briefly me

My passion is ...

anything that allows me to be creative whether it's writing, painting, or dance.

I know too much about ...

The primal instincts of the human brain.

My parents always told me ...

You can do whatever you want, as long as you give it your all.

My childhood ambition ...

To be any kind of writer.

My favorite memory ...

I have a couple of those. They are when I gave birth to my boys and the Rob Zombie/Godsmack concert I went to.

Why I write ...

I write because it is something that I love to do. For me, it sets me free and allows my mind to wander to places it's never been before. It's very therapeutic for me.

What I am reading/watching/listening to ...

I am currently listening to the tv as background noise.

My first job ...

My first job was working in the cafeteria of my high school when I was 16 years old.

My best moment ...

My best moment was when I left the military. It was like just coming out of high school; a time when you know nothing about the world, though you are older.

My inspiration ...

My inspiration is other people. I ponder how they might see things, and how that differs from how I see it.

Religion & Spirituality > Wicca & Witchcraft About the celebration of Mabon

Mabon is a sabbat that is like a Pagan form of Thanksgiving. It is the second harvest festival and falls on or around 21 September at the time of the Autumn Equinox. The main focus of Mabon is the second harvest and the balance between darkness and light. This is the second time during the year when night and day are equal in length. This is also a celebration of the changing seasons. There are many ways to celebrate Mabon, with one of the main festivities being a harvest. If you have your own garden, the Autumn Equinox is the day to harvest the herbs and vegetables you have grown and dry ...
