I love the idea of a robotic vacuum cleaner. I’ve seen demonstrations of Dyson prototype models and I’ve seen the Roomba models in use over a long period of time when working and caring for elderly and disabled people. The concept is a fantastic idea at the time but in reality it doesn’t do much other than collect up surface dirt, annoy pets in the home and needs to be emptied by the owner – or maintained – despite the Roomba’s wonderful return to base idea when the battery starts to decline in power.
