: About Me

I sing in a Southern Punk Band called the DIRTY WORKS. Ive been in bands since the age of 14. Also spent 10years working as a local stagehand here in Knoxville TN.
Right now however my attention is solely on my music. The DIRTY WORKS and my acoustical project Christopher Scum.
What else, I spent about 13 years either drunk in a Black out or in the alcohol DT's. the only time soer I was at work or locked up. If I went to long without a drink I would go into a siezure or the DT's. I actually only went into full on DT's about 4 times. Each time I was in a hospital or jail (where they took me to a hospital) No common ground. By age 28 I was told I had a hard liver, Alcohol related hepatitis, and a hardened liver. I was on the verge of death. I drank about two more years.
Not really ready to die yet I chucked the Booze and other drugs aside concentrating on music as my anti-drug. I've expressed myself in writing all my life. short stories, Articles, Some poetry. I published several fanzines mostly dealing with the Punk Rock scene here in The South. I haven't drank in 5 1/2 years. I'm not an AA or NA guy, I just don't drink. I wasted too much time on that. Lost too much.

What's next? Is there any hope for music? I heard someone the other day talking about Emo being the next Grunge. That it has the potential to be a new original sound, a movement. My feelings we're this person was a little predated because where I'm from the Emo/ Screamo stuff is already bellied up. What is it that's original about it. Just bad pop punk with horribly depressing lyrics. How kids find energy in this music to hold their attention. Cutting themselves, of course this has went on since the beginning of time. Bloodletting as a ritual. As far as musician busting hemselves up onstag...
