About me - Marla A Davis

About me

Some say it is hard to tell when I am being serious or funny, because I look the same either way. I enjoy entertaining and amusing people who are normally serious and staid. I can get a laugh out of someone, even when they are bawling tears of despair. My work history is too vast to mention, which is probably why it is difficult for me to take too much too seriously.

Briefly me

My passion is ...

The rare luxury of floating, on my back, in a warm swimming pool, alone on a clear starry night.

I know too much about ...

Things that are visible only through a microscope.

My parents always told me ...

I should be a writer.

My childhood ambition ...

My childhood ambition is the same as it is today: To write.

My favorite memory ...

Running barefooted throughout the impeccable English gardens and terraces of a New Jersey estate every summer. Waking up early, throwing open the windows and taking in the scents of the morning fog.

Why I write ...

I write to connect with inquisitive readers.

What I am reading/watching/listening to ...

Usually reading Vanity Fair Magazine, Smithsonian Magazine, Patricia Cornwell novels, James Lee Burke series. Sometimes watch Sponge Bob Square Pants on television, because the characters amplify expressions and experiences that occur in real life. Am a fan of Deadliest Catch series.

My first job ...

My first job was at a mom and pop drugstore. I cashiered and wrapped gifts.

My best moment ...

My best moment happens twice each day: once at sunrise, and again at sunset.

My inspiration ...

The behavior of matter inspires me.
