Can art and function work harmoniously together? I guess that's my life's story in a nut shell, that is, a series of disconnects, yet like Murphy's Law, the incongruous actually works. I enjoy writing clearly to convey my thoughts and ideas. What makes it all the more interesting is that I work for the NYC Department of Correction as a uniformed supervisor wherein I have not let cold governmental process interrupt the creative bent I have for putting words together. Further I work with numbers all day long which is a language of its own. Consequently when I sit down to create an analysis I am creating a story based on numbers and the meaning that can be derived from them. This, then, is my bread and butter. But words are a satisfying passion.
Biography wise, Eisenhower was President of the USA when I was born in 1953 in Bay Shore NY. I grew up in Amityville on Long Island's south shore wherein we played baseball and did a lot of fishing and boating. I owe my creativity to the nuns at my grammar school who encouraged a love for writing and reading. This culminated in the world class education I received at my high school, St. Pius X Preparatory Seminary. This followed with college at St. John's University wherein I studied Communications Arts and Sciences that developed my writing skills even more. I worked through the 1970's, 80's (joining Corrections in 1984), and 90's,
when I enjoyed a renaissance between 2003 and 2005 when I received my Master's Degree.
I am employed in a good job with the Correction Department and have been happily married for 31 years. I also have a crazy Irish Setter named Jake.

He was an itinerant sinker bouncer who used to catch pails of fish on Long Island's south shore bays and sneered at lures or anything remotely deviating from a good Chester-town hook with a "number 2" sinker rigged together. This adoring grandson, however, took this fishing passion to the fresh wa...
