Hello.
Well, I'm a housewife from the UK and a mom of two young kids. I was married in the year 2000 in London, UK, and it was a day I am honored to remember. Two words I like to use for when I was getting married: smooth and easy. (Of course I don't know if my parents would agree)
At school I was always good at English, I loved writing stories and doing those English comprehension lessons, but I hardly paid attention at the time to how good I was, I was more concerned with surviving school. The secondary school I attended before college was where I began to take notice of my skills in English a little more. I still remember that day when I saw that A grade on a paper I did. I was over the moon. Teachers told me I was good at writing, but naive as I was I didn't think there was much of a future with English. Someone said English and I thought of Shakespeare, I hated Shakespeare, I didn't want to write plays that put you to sleep, I thought English had a very limited career path. So I continued to glide in school up to graduation.
Marriage had kept me busy for a few years with life's new responsibilities and what not. It was 2005 when I wrote my first article for the newspaper. The topic was Ramadhan and I even had a picture taken to go with the article itself, and it looked great when it was published. That's when I took writing more seriously, submitting more articles and ultimately establishing a connection with the Editor.
Today, I'm pursuing freelancing as a career, that's why I'm here. My dream is to...actually I'll keep that to myself, for if and when it comes true.
My passion is ...
to write to my heart's content
I know too much about ...
best not said, you never know who's reading this
My parents always told me ...
to think before you speak (still trying)
My childhood ambition ...
was to become a nurse
My favorite memory ...
my wedding day
Why I write ...
it's easier than talking, and the pen is my weapon
What I am reading/watching/listening to ...
reading the local newspaper, watching The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, and listening to HOT 995
My first job ...
working as a receptionist at my father's doctor's office.
My best moment ...
knowing that my cooking is able to bring the family together...and not kill them
My inspiration ...
my husband, my kids, my dad, and my heart

The move to ban the burka has no doubt grabbed global attention and perhaps has even caused some to question the ruling of the French President, Nicolas Sarkozy. Now while President Sarkozy may have been attempting to be honorable in his decision, I am one of those who say he does not have the right to make such a ban. True, the burka is not part of religion, but it IS an item of clothing that many Muslim women choose to wear, or at least that’s how it’s supposed to be. It’s a shame that there are those who make it difficult for women to live their lives and impose custom...
