About me - Can Tran

About me

My biological grandparents were revolutionaries in the First Indochina War. My biological grandfather died in the Tet Offensive. My family had lived through the entire war.

I've lived somewhat of a pretty interesting life so far. For about two years, I had worked as a substitute teacher for the Polk County School Board. Half of me doesn't miss it. Other half of me does because of the challenge it brought. Whenever I leave jobs, the one thing I usually miss are the challenges it presented to me.

I've also worked for the John Kerry campaign in '04. Met a bunch of very interesting people.

In my freetime, I like to draw, write, surf the net, lift weights, listen to music, practice martial arts, play video games, play Magic the Gathering, go clubbing, and dining out.

I have an extensive martial arts background training in styles such as Wado-Ryu Karate, Tae Kwon Do, Tai Chi Chuan, Boxing, Judo, etc.  I hope to use my experience for martial arts choreography, consulting, and so forth.

I am a massive Japanese anime fan. Today, I tend to enjoy watching Japanese anime than what is on TV nowadays. However, I do make major exceptions for shows such as Heroes, Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles, Prison Break, Doll House, Law and Order, Robot Chicken, and Family.

Currently, I write for multiple websites such as Digital Journal, Associated Content, Ground Report, and Now Public. The CJ-scene has kept me busy for quite some time.

Right now, I'm a single guy. But, I'm very single, and very happy. I so enjoy my freedom. When I am not writing articles, I am writing screenplays left and right.
