: About Me

I have been around a long time. I am baptised into the death burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. I had a rocky start in life, born into an alcoholic home. However, my folks, God rest their souls, did the very best they could. We always had a roof, food and clothes. Apart from dysfunction; there was nurture. My mother was a compassionate caring woman. Our home was a strict military home. My father was a Navy NCO. He was dedicated to the Navy and would be away at sea 6 months out of the year. As children we were never "grounded" our liberty would be cancelled. The burden of raising the children fell solely on my mother. As a girl to young womanhood she was a professional dancer . Much of the support in her younger years for her parents came from her. Her father my namesake was a kind gentle soul but suffered health problems limiting his financial contribution. Mom was a "work horse / battleaxe.

My folks were married 30 years, separated only by the untimely death of my father. There was alcohol, anger, fighting, fear and violence. I left home at 16, a child of the sixties I hitched to L.A. Ca. and settled in to the hippie community. It was a "gas". I inherited my mothers eyes and my fathers addictive personality. I lucked out with both; girls thought my eyes were dreamy and my bondages drove me to Christ and a renewed mind.

I love the gospel music of the 70's: Chuck Gerard & Love Song, Andre Crouch, Mustard Seed Faith, and Daniel Amos the Maranatha groups . Mahalia Jackson, I love music. Jazz , Reggae Southern Rock are soothing to me. I love music. I played bass violin in school and learned to love classical music. Music is a gift from God, all forms.

I cut my teeth on Marvel comics. Read every SciFi anthology of the 50's 60's and 70's I was drawn to C S Lewis by "Out of the Silent Planet", "Perelandra" and "That Hideous Strength", I revere "Mere Christianity", "The Great Divorce" and "Screwtape Letters". I am deeply moved by Clive's observations in "A grief Observed."

I have been in ministry in various calls many years. I can fellowship with any denomination that will tolerate me. I appreciate honesty and have a reputation for frankness. I have been recipient of the miraculous and count my own dear wife as God's greatest expression of love for me. My back round is harsh. But it is more important where your going then where you've been. (Windshields and rear view mirrors.) I love the Bible. It is the most exciting book I have ever read. The Bible is my daily companion. I am blessed with true love. I seem to have learned how to be happy, and at peace, when I use the tools of my faith. I can also be sick as a dog when I'm not spiritually fit. I like to learn and write or vice versa.
