Wendy Bulawa Agudelo, who resides north of Boston, Mass., currently moonlights as the Special Needs columnist for Parents and Kids Magazine. She is the parent of several children with special needs (Down syndrome and Autism), including a set of twin boys. In her spare time, she is an avid features writer covering a broad array of parenting topics from special needs to travel with infants. She also fancies herself a 'foodie' and is forever trying out new recipes with which to shock and amaze her friends and family. During the day, she earns her stripes as a self-made entrepreneur, operating a 12-year-old public relations consultancy, Image Professors, and recently launched a theme gift basket business, Period Packs, which celebrates a young girl's foray into womanhood.

The physicians and nurses in the NICU were very concerned that our newborn daughter wouldn’t successfully feed.
