Frater L.A. was born in the fall of 1976 in El Cajon, California, and was the first of three sons . Frater L.A. then moved often as a child and attended as many schools as he spent years in school, finally landing in Chula Vista, California. When Frater L.A. Graduated from Castle Park High School in 1994, at age 17, he joined the U.S. Army. He was sent to Fort Knox, Kentucky where he underwent 16 weeks of basic and advanced combat training for Tank Crewmen.

After Graduating Frater L.A. was sent on his first assignment to the First Armored Division in Friedberg Germany. Frater L.A. served 4 years there and was deployed to Bosnia and Herzegovina for six months as part of the Bosnia IFOR. It was while serving in Germany that he learned to speak the German language fluently.

Next, Frater L.A. was assigned for three years to the Third Armored Cavalry Regiment at Fort Carson, Colorado, where he served as a Tank Gunner. He won the Fort Carson Post Soldier of the Quarter Board and was promoted to sergeant and Staff Sergeant while assigned there. He earned his Cavalry Spurs and Stetson, and was recognized for being the first gunner to fire a distinguished (900 pts or higher) Tank Table VIII on the new M1A2 Main Battle Tank. While here he was deployed for six months to Bosnia as a member of the SFOR. He also attended as passed the Army Primary Leadership Development Course.

Frater L.A. was then reassigned to serve as a Tank Commander in Vilseck Germany as a member of the First Infantry Division's armor assets. From here He attended the Basic Non-Commissioned Officer Course (BNCOC) finishing as his classes Distinguished Honor Graduate. While there he also was deployed to Kosovo for nine months as part of KFOR, and served as a squad leader in the Vitina sector. Upon return to Germany Frater L.A. met his wife of three years.

In Germany Frater L.A. was notified that he was on the promotion list for Sergeant First Class and was being assigned to recruiting duty. Frater L.A. attended the Army Recruiting School in Fort Jackson before being assigned to the Imperial Beach Recruiting Station in the Southern California Recruiting Battalion. There he was promoted to E-7 and was recognized as his company's Top new recruiter for FY 04. Frater L.A. earned his Gold Recruiting Badge for excellence in recruiting operations and attended and graduated from the Advanced Non-Commissioned Officer Course (ANCOC). It was from here that he was selected for the Warrant Officer Flight Program and transfered to Fort Rucker, Alabama.

Frater L.A. completed the demanding Warrant Officer Candidate School (WOCS) and was appointed to the rank of Warrant Officer One (WO-1) and went on to rotary wing flight training for the UH-60 Blackhawk Helicopter. Frater L.A. currently resides in Fort Rucker, Alabama with his wife, daughter and chihuahua and is awaiting assignment to any global contingency.

Frater L.A.'s military awards include: The Army Commendation Medal 3 oakleaf clusters, The Army Achievement Medal one oakleaf cluster, The Good Conduct Ribbon 3 knots, The NCO Professional Development Ribbon with 3 Device, The Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, The Armed Forces Service Medal, The Kosovo Campaign Ribbon, The NATO Medal with Star Device, The National Defense Service Medal, The Global War on Terrorism Medal, The Armed Forces Service Ribbon. The Expert Rifle and Pistol Qualification Badges, The Gold Recruiter Badge, The German Weapons Qualification Badge (Schutzenschnur) Gold Level, The German Physical Fitness Badge Gold Level.

Frater L.A. is interested in The Western Mystery Tradition, Hermeticism, Alchemy, Magick, Kabbalah, Thelema, The Occult, Yoga, Physics, Philosophy, Anthropology, History, Chaos Theory, Futurism, Life Extension, Space Exploration, Maybe Logic, and other weirdness. Frater L.A. is a Freemason, active in blue lodge, the Scottish Rite, OES, and MSRICF. He also maintains membership in a few occult fraternal organizations. Frater L.A. likes to spend his spare time with his family, keeping in touch with friends, reading, playing his guitar and violin, and exploring local restaurants.
