I am a happily married father of two. I have resided in Denver, Colorado for almost ten years now, but I spent my childhood all over the world. I was born in Subic Bay, Philipines to two great parents. One was a navy man who left Louisiana to travel the world. The other was a young woman from a farming village in Tacloban, Leyte. I am a hybrid of hybrids. Both my parents are genetically codes with several ethic genes. So you can imagine how mixed-up my kids are. I tell people they're remixed.
I resided in Yokosuka, Japan from '81 to '91. The experiences I had over there are unmatched. I learned so much about the culture and the people. I loved everyday I spent over there. In '91 we moved to Guam. now most people don't even know what or where Guam. Despite the fact that Guam and all the other Micronesion Islands are U.S. territories. If you looked for Guam on a map you'd see a dot with the name, but no land mass. The island is 32 miles long and 12 miles wide, but when I was there it was larger than life. Island life was extremely fun to say the least. We partied all the time, we were surrounded by sun, sand, and surf. the lowest temperature was 94 degrees, so why did I trade it in for the snow capped rocky mountains. Well, to be honest I was tired of the heat.
My freshman year of college was an eye opener. When I was done with High School I quickly realized there were no jobs, careers, or futures on Guam. The economy was bad and has only gotten worse. The only thing holding Guam's economy together was Japanese tourism. The Japanese came to Guam to experience an island paradise. The reason was simple, it was cheaper and closer than Hawaii. So you either had to speak Japanese or have connected relatives to survive on "the rock".
Colorado is great and I've been here for ten years. I live in Aurora with my lovely wife. We both are managers at the same company, she is a bit higher up on the food chain, but that's fine. I love women with power. I have a son named Jaylem who is a child genius, at least by my standards, and a daughter Janessa, who just figured out how to feed herself. We live your average suburban lifestyle, but at night I put on tights and steel toe boots and prowl the neighborhood streets fighting crime and injustice. Okay it was a thought, mostly I exercise obsessively and write in my spare time. I'm a bit of fitness fanatic. and unfortunately my family has been forced to join me on my quest for better living. Although my son is so skinny he could hide behing a flagpole, I'm unwavering in my journey to live long and healthy.
I work for a strong company and I manage dispatch operators. I love working with people. I'm freakishly social and approachable. I interact with a giverse, and interesting array of people daily and it gives me insight. I love it. It helps me write stories better when I have a pool of characters to choose from. I started writing as an outlet for stress. Then I got some great feedback. I ran a website for movie reviews for a while and I self published an exercise book in '06. I'm very excited to be here on Helium contributing articles to the already steller inventory.

Many people who choose a sedentary lifestyle often weigh if and why they should get into shape.
