First off, I just want to make something clear. There is no "saving" the environment. Just because you decide to drive a Prius and start recycling, doesn't mean you are saving the environment. The only thing you are doing is postponing the destruction. Just because you don't harm the planet as much, doesn't mean you're not harming it. That said, there are some things that everyone can do to help postpone it. Switch all your lights to CFL's. They waste a lot less energy than regular incandescent bulbs, and will last a lot longer.
