Hi
I've been a writer for many years on and off , mostly off .I enjoy writing comedy poetry , and short stories . Most of my 50 years has been spent working in Legal Management and Administration . This profession can be about as funny as a well smacked backside , so the comedy doesn't come from there . My first poem on Helium represents my more serious side . Most of my poetry finds its roots in satire ,innuendo , and wordplay . In other words , the ability to see the silly side of most things . My first poetry book entitled
'A Mad Merseyside Poets World' is now available for purchase at www.lulu.com
I have two ways of writing poetry , which seem to be at extremes . Basically , there is the darkside , and the very light side , with little or nothing in between .The light side represents a release from the boredom of a treadmill career , and the darkide is were the treadmill career has conquered , and I am reduced to depressive drivel . I am often perplexed by the vanity of writers who delight in making their subject matter so inexplicit that it demands 150 re-reads before even the most basic understanding emerges . I feel that the enjoyment of poetry is steeped in the understanding of it. Notwithstanding this , I have the wordplay to react on both sides , and will try to carefully choose subject matter to demonstrate this .

When you can rise from slumber every morning with resolution running freely through your veins When gallantly you greet each challenge dawning Championing your beliefs, not leaving challengers in chains When championing deteriorates to confrontation As being all that's left to pull you through Be yours the balanced mind that knows the poor relation As well to know the subtle difference of the two When you can live at peace with all that life delivers and covet not the lives of fellow men When desperately your mind and muscle quivers at chances lost , at broken dreams , and then When sinkin...
