Mike Scallan has taught history, art and English for eighteen years. He has always been writing but has only recently decided to explore writing through Helium,which looks like a fascinating and rewarding opportunity. He has decided to tackle subjects close to his heart and looks forward to engaging with other writers and readers out there.He lives in Benoni, South Africa, and is passionate about Africa. He loves travelling and has visited Egypt, India, Morocco, Dubai, Turkey, Spain and England. He is married with three children, three budgies, seven dogs, two ex-fish and a tortoise.

Yes Shakespeare's writing is incomprehensible, if you have not been taught how to access it. His incomprehensibility is, however, not a good enough reason to discard him. That his writing has enthralled generations of humans for nearly six hundred years would suggest that more effort be made to access his work. As a South African I found the American electoral system incomprehensible, and so I decided to find out more.
