"That was my first encounter with him. It was 1965. And I thought that would be the first and the last time I saw him. And that proved to be just a thought. The sun sends blazing heat across the street. Beads of sweat trickle down from my brows, blurring my vision a little. I wipe it off with the back of my hand. The street continues to burn intensely, smouldering with the choking smell of sulphur. Down here, people slog and the entire town is plague by insanity. This is the land of the dead.
