After reading a flurry of recent negative reviews about five-star hotels in Cuba, I felt compelled to add a little balance and share my very positive experience staying at the Sandals Hicacos Resort & Spa.

First off, I feel the need to say this: This is Cuba. Its a nation trying its best to expand its tourism base, but trying to do so in a very difficult environment economically speaking.
