After working in the mental health field for fifteen years, Barbara began to focus full time on writing. She has been published in several family- oriented magazines such as Focus On The Family, Grit, Capper's, Country Woman, and other national magazines.
In September of 2007,Barbara won third place in a writing contest. As a result, her story was published as part of the book, If Only I Could Tell You..., by Kate Harper and Leon Marasco.
Barbara attended Pearl River Community college in Pearl River County, Mississippi and the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg. She received an honorary doctorate in Biblical Counseling from the Progressive Universal Church of Christ. She believes that every day is a learning experience that should be shared with others who share the same interests in life.
Barbara recently received an invitation to join Teachers Without Borders, where she hopes to make a difference writing curriculum for children all over the world.

Barbara enjoys nature and growing her own herbs to use in herbal remedies. She also makes her own fragrances, hand lotions, and cleaning supplies that are earth-friendly.
