About me - Annie Biller

About me

I grew up on multiple small farms in mid-Ohio with my two sisters. The youngest of three, my father taught me to read and write while he sat helping my sisters with their school work and I learned the delights to be found within the pages of a book at an early age.

I can remember running and playing in the woods, making pets of our farm animals, and like most children my sisters and I played pretend games. I can remember pretending that I was someone else, someone important with a more exciting life, someone who was smarter or prettier, or more adventurous. I spent hours writing imaginary stories of fantastic people and places on my school tablets.

I also remember the multiple times we moved from one place to another while I was small and the stress of leaving behind my current best friends only to find myself facing new classrooms full of unfamiliar faces and wondering if I would find a way to fit in.

Somewhere along the way I found that books and knowledge were friends that were always with you.

Now a grandmother, I enjoy reading to my grandchildren and am pleased that their parents take the time to read to them as well.

At this time in my life I have to admit that love of reading did a lot to mold the person I have become and I still spend much time reading. I learned an an early age that the pages of a book can stimulate your imagination and teach you a wide variety of things and they always have been and still are a way to briefly escape the stresses of life and relax within the realm of imagination.

This is a true account The following was written by a young man sitting alone in a cell awaiting his sentencing. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A pick-up pulls into a graveyard just outside a little town. The driver hesitates for a second as he questions his actions for the last time. He picks up a small handgun from the seat and tucks it into his waistband as he steps out of the truck. He secretly wonders why he's doing the crime he's about to commit but can only think of being able to pay his bill and keep the confidence of his father that he is truly responsible.
