For the sake of the question, assume for a moment that god exists. What this means is that there is some form of omnipotent "higher being" who created the universe. This is a little bit of a stretch, but what is not imagined for the sake of argument. Now the question is: does this powerful all-knowing entity love people? "People" as a whole? Grouped by nation or race? Or every single individual? Addressing people as the entire human race, God probably does love people.
