Who am I?: I am a 59 year old woman, living in the UK, and I find life is strange yet fascinating at the same time. I am married with two grown up children, one of whom is mentally disabled.
I have a strong interest in writing about the unusual, the unfathomable, the strange, as well as history, religion, and social issues! I have had several letters published in national newspapers, an article in Mensa magazine, and an article in Fortean Times.
On Helium I have submitted more than 300 articles covering a variety of subjects, from ancestral history to that of the UK and Europe, through politics both national and global especially its effects on the UK. There are also articles on poetry, short stories, social commentary, the exploration of spirituality, plus health issues such as autism, and hypothyroidism. As for the unusual I have covered time, dreams, UFOs, astrology, and other more everyday topics too. Some of the articles have required extensive research via libraries, internet, maps, text books, which have helped formulate my perceptions.
I am also a Channel Steward for the Personal Morals and Values sub-channel under Society and Lifestyle.
Walking in the countryside of Northumberland, England, is a hobby I find exhilarating and thoroughly enjoyable, and it takes me close to nature with all its beauty, colours, wonder and uncertainties.
Britain will always have my loyalty; especially the North East of England where I have lived all my life. I consider it to be the best part of this island, in terms of landscape and people, although all of Britain has much to offer the discerning visitor.
All in all an "ordinary" British writer!

Children are a blessing to those who desired them, who fill up the days and nights of their parents, who by being there allow their parents to become children again in words and deeds. Grandparents feel the same way, cherishing their offspring's offspring; loving to be with those small innocent beings which bring a lot of happiness and imagination back into their lives. These people clearly think their own kin are a blessing and I am very happy for them. Yet, just like childbirth there is a downside to having children around you.
